A Question For Mr Evolutionist!

Mr Evolutionist, assuming that you propagate before you die, what great genetic improvement or evolutionary advancement will you bring to the human gene pool? Have you improved on the eyesight or hearing of your parents? Have you developed some new biological function that gives you a greater chance of survival? Have you moved your family tree one step closer to developing gills, or flying with the birds? How do you know that you haven’t actually made a regressive step back towards your primate ancestors? What a waste your life will be if you reach the end and find out that you have added no new &/or improved genetic information! You will be an evolutionary failure!

Is there actually a point to this? I'll be dead - I have no idea what I'll be passing on, is this a problem?

Sam,

That's not how evolution works.

Once again, you're proving that you're either willing to spout off about something you are ignorant of, or lie about something you're not ignorant of. Which is it?

Either way, it doesn't make me want to trust anything you have to say about the Gospel....

That's just silly, and a strawman fallacy to boot.

Evolution takes a long time, and no one generation will ever be markedly different from the next.

Here's an example: you cut your hair to 1/2" long. You take a picture of your hair every day, and at the end of a month, you compare the pictures.

Of course, you will see a noticeable difference between the first picture and the last, but between each picture and the one before and after it? No, you really won't be able to see a difference- yet every picture is different, in the smallest of ways.

Also, you can't regress in evolution. There is no ultimate aim or goal. Being a human is no better than being a worm in terms of survival and reproduction. Worms and humans are equally adapted and successful in our particular environments.

Your posts are rather transparent...

One of the descriptors of an "evolutionary failure" would generally be the inability to propagate. Thus, assuming your premise (that I do in fact propogate before I die, something I have yet to do in reality), I will not be an "evolutionary failure."

More importantly, who cares whether or not an individual is an "evolutionary failure?" My personal happiness and wellbeing is not dependant on my ability to propogate my genes. If yours is, I recommend a psychiatrist.

I am going to assume that the undirected nature of evolution has been explained to you at some point in the past, and that you understand that there is no way the terms 'improved' and 'regressive' can be applied to evolution.

Question for Mr. Anti-Evolutionist!

Do you have any idea what you appear like when you make it obvious that you have no idea what you're talking about? Does it feel good to prattle on about issues that you've never studied? Does it make you feel strong to leave no one in doubt that you don't know the required nomenclature? Will you do research? Will you ever try to understand, even though you don't need to agree with, the ACTUAL claims of Evolutionary Biologists? Or just stick with your straw man arguments? Aren't you embarrassed by commenting in absolute ignorance?

Just, like, curious about that and stuff.

IMHO this guy is just trolling for attention (re. EPM). I don't think we should waste any time trying to understand or educate him.

He already has the answers, and is too proud to consider ideas that are not his own.

It will be the least of your problems! When every secret thing that you have done is brought out into the light by God on the day of judgement you'll wish evolution was true!

So god will send me to hell for critically assessing the evidence for evolution and accepting it as a valid scientific theory?

Whateverman said...

That's correct, Matthew. God gave us brains, but apparently we're not supposed to use them...

Matthew said...

Is evolution any less valid as a scientific theory than the theory of gravity or germ theory or electromagnetic theory, etc, etc?

Why would god allow us to be fooled on the issue of evolution but allow us to build appliances, computers, etc or does satan focus all his energy only towards evolutionary scientists?

PersonalFailure and others who have their faith in evolution -

You say you need time to go from a rock to an ape - or - from the goo, through the zoo to you. Well, even if the complex information coded in the DNA throughout all living things miraculously added itself to rock, slime, bone, spine, nerves, brains, eyes, 2 eyes, limbs, etc. etc. (not sure who added that information in, did they get together and do a trade? Or what?) Even if that COULD happen, which it can't, besides, if you could, a horse would be able to breed with a cow, but you can't naturally do that. Even if things could evolve throw random, successive, multiple, changes through natural selection. YOU DON'T HAVE THE TIME FOR IT TO WORK.

The salt content of the sea, the thickness of the layer of dust on the moon, the distance of the moon from the earth, the decaying of earths magnetic field, fossils all over the world buried through rapid sedimentary buriel process indicating a global deluge about 4500 years ago (in line with Genesis 6-7), discoveries into how coal and diamonds are formed, radiation present IN diamonds, the list goes on all pointing to an earth that cannot be older than 10,000years - hence there is no time for evolution.

Whateverman said...

How exactly does the salt content of the sea suggest that the earth is 10,000 years old?

Sounds to me like someone wants a specific Biblical interpretation to replace "evidence". Sorry, Nathin. Believe it if you want, but it requires willful ignorance of the truth to arrive at a number like that.
