Who Is There Like Our God?

Who is there like our God? Who is his equal? Who is there worthy of such honour and praise? He takes the twisted, corrupt sons of men, men who were conceived in iniquity, born in sin, who are rebellious to the core and proud at heart, men who are godless, heartless, faithless and supremely selfish, without hope and utterly helpless - and He saves them! He takes mere men, like wild beasts of the earth, and subdues them. Who can stand against him? Who can resist him or thwart his ways? The people plot in vain against him. All their fighting, and cursing, and bitter hatred is drowned out when he speaks, for he brings rebellious nations to ruin, and drives the proud of heart into the dust. He opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. The cries of the broken hearted he does not ignore, nor the pleadings of the weak, contrite ones. His loving kindness does not fail! He does not drive away those who come to him seeking mercy, nor does he hide himself from those who seek him with all their heart. He is full of compassion and mercy! Who is there like our God? Who is his equal? Who is there worthy of such honour and praise?
